Alumni, students, faculty, staff and family are invited to join alumna Karen Perez for a ZOOMba as part of the first virtual Homecoming.

Groove and bust a move with this mid-day break led by alumna Karen Perez ’10. Whether you’re an avid Zumba follower or want to try something new, this event is perfect for you!  

In 2010, Karen Perez graduated from UC Merced with a Bahcelors of Arts in Psychology and earned her Masters in Public Health from Cal State Northridge in 2017. During her undergraduate studies, Karen danced and competed as a member of INTRO, served as their President, and was a student mentor. Following her graduation, she entered the workforce gaining experience first as a fitness instructor and eventually joining the Kaiser Permanente family in 2012.

Today, Karen is a Health Education Specialist for Kaiser in Southern California. She has built a strong social media following doing what she enjoys most, teaching Zumba and dancing. Since late Spring, Karen has been providing free online classes while simultaneoulsy raising awareness and donations for charities and non-profits in support of women. As part of her ZOOMba session this Wednesdsay, October 14th, Karen is helping raise donations to support young Bobcats through the UC Merced Student Emergency Fund.
