Homecoming Parade 2019

UC Merced Homecoming hosted on Saturday, October 19, 2019, invites thousands of current and potential students, alumni, staff, faculty and community members to visit our campus for a variety of entertaining and informational events. As part of this year’s program we will be hosting the inaugural Homecoming parade through the heart of our campus, open to an assortment of clubs and organizations. Homecoming entries must represent your department or organization and be focused on promoting school spirit or local organizations. No political statements or petitioning are allowed.

10:15 AM   Check-in and Staging

11:00 AM   Parade Begins

Please plan accordingly to allow time to park and walk to the staging area. We will provide your entry with a line up number and instructions upon your arrival.

Registration: 

Pre-registration for the parade is required. In order to register, please register via the Tabling & Parade Registration form. Registration closes on Friday, October 11, 2019. 

Rules & Information: 

The Parade Rules and Information Sheet should be downloaded and reviewed prior to registering. These will be emailed with a confirmation email once your group registers. Please take into considering the list outlined below of items that are or are not allowed in the parade. 

Allowed/Encouraged:

  • Homecoming entries must represent your department or organization and be focused on promoting school spirit or local organizations
  • Walking, dancing, playing band instruments
  • Throwing out candy, promotional items or interacting with guests
  • Signage to display your organizations name
  • Family members/guests of participants are encouraged to watch from Scholars Lane

Not Allowed:

  • No political statements or petitioning are allowed
  • No golf carts, cars, trucks or other motorized vehicles
